About Us

Welcome to our website! We're Aaron Mauricio and Michelle Knox, the artists at Silicate Wolf in Vermont. At our studio, we combine hot and coldworking techniques to create handmade glass tableware, jewelry, wall art, and sculpture. We love everything about the glassmaking process and we're excited to share our art with you!

Here are a few photos of our glass being made:

Aquamarine enamel being painted on white glass.

In this photo, Michelle is painting enamel on some glass pendants before they go into the kiln for firing. Fused enamel is an element in many of our pieces.

Blue and black glass Flower Mandala Pendant being sandcarved.

After the pendants are fired, we apply a pattern and carve away the fused enamel.

Yellow and yellow transparent glass sunswimmer being ground.

Our plates need to be precisely sized before they can be encased in clear glass. In this photo, Aaron is grinding a plate on one of our diamond discs.

Brown and marzipan flower mandala platter in slumping mold.

To shape the glass we use a technique called slumping. We slumped this platter in the kiln using a ceramic mold.

This is just a tiny glimpse of what we do in our studio. We're always looking for new ways to work with glass and we hope you find something you like. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, or if you have any ideas you want us to bring to life! We'd love to hear from you and we're excited to create something for you or someone you love!
